One of the bonuses of living in another country is the variety of new food and drinks that you get to try.
On our holiday that took us to the 4th region of Chile, we came across a place (one of many) that was selling papayas in every possible form. Since Papayas are typical of the region (the local football team is called the Papayeros), an obligatory purchase of them was in order.
The big jar on the left says “Papayas al Jugo” which can be loosely translated as Papayas in (its) juice.
The smaller jar on the right is “Mermelada de Papayas” which is Papaya jam.
The papayas in the photo were bought at “Encanto del Valle” (literally: Enchantment of the Valley) where they grow their own. It is between La Serena and Vicuña just on the right after a small bridge.
