Los calzones rotos es una masa dulce, suave y frita, que contiene como principales ingredientes huevo, mantequilla ralladura de limón, dependiendo del gusto se puede espolvorear azúcar flor.

Calzones Rotos, literally translated as “broken underwear”, is a sweet, soft pastry that is fried. Its main ingredients are egg, butter, grated lemon rind and depending on your taste, icing sugar can be sprinkled on top.

¿Cómo se hace calzones rotos?

Formar una masa uniendo la harina, polvos de hornear, azúcar flor y los huevos. Incorporar la mantequilla ablandada y amasar.

Agregar pequeñas cantidades de agua si fuese necesario. Uslerear sobre tabla enharinada hasta dejar la masa de 1/2 cm de grosor. Cortar rectángulos de 10 cm por 5 cm. Hacer sobre ellos un corte vertical de unos 3 cm y pasar un extremo del rectángulo por este ojal.

Freir en aceite bien caliente. Escurrir, poner en una fuente con papel absorbente y espolvorear con azúcar flor.

How do you make calzones rotos?

Make a dough out of flour, baking powder, icing sugar and eggs. Add melted butter and knead the dough. Add small amounts of water if necessary.

Roll the dough on a floured board until the dough is 1/2 cm thick. Cut the dough into 10 cm by 5 cm rectangles. Make a vertical slit in the middle of the dough of about 3cm and then pass one end of the rectangle through this new ‘hole’.

Fry in very hot oil. Drain when golden brown then put them in a bowl lined with paper towels (to absorb excess oil). Sprinkle with icing sugar.
